Following the successful
CBMI'99
Workshop that was held in Toulouse, France, the second venue of the
workshop will be held in the University of Brescia, Italy. This
International Workshop on Content-Based
Multimedia Indexing (CBMI'01)
aims at bringing together various communities (audio,
video, image, textual information retrieval) involved in various aspects
of Multimedia Indexing. The list of intended topics to be covered in the
Workshop is (the list is not limitative):

Multimedia indexing (image, audio, video,
text)

Multimedia content extraction

Matching and similarity search

Construction of high level indices

Multi-modal and Cross-modal indexing

Representation models

Content-based search techniques

Presentation tools

Meta-data compression and transformation

Applications
Submissions will be based on full size papers (6-8 pages).
All papers presented at CBMI'01 will be included in the proceedings.
Best papers will be selected for inclusion in a Special Issue of the IEEE Multimedia
Magazine. Authors of these selected papers will be asked to prepare
an extended version for the journal review.
